Covid cap world will hurt most teams with very few other teams around to capitalize on it all. Lots of pain to share is to come.

The Leafs aren't the only team in cap trouble but with 4 players sucking up 1/2 their available cap space they are in bigger trouble then most teams. They need better d-men and a good goalie if they can't afford to resign Andersen. They may have to trade one of their big three to try and receive pieces back that could address their weaknesses. This won't be popular but may be necessary.

Dubas won’t trade Nylander. He gave him his word and I highly doubt he’d go back on it. He’s going to ride or die with this core, IMO.

Not sure why youre worried about the leafs cap? but I would argue that in the current cap crisis it would be of great alleviation for the leafs to be able to trade 1 player and get back 12.5% of the teams cap as well as a decent haul coming back for one of those players and still have 3 superstar forwards

You make this sound easy if the Leafs even choose to go this route. Not saying any of the big 3 are not worthy but who is fitting them into their cap if they acquire any of them?
